Today’s word is: YES
I declare this day a day of saying yes. I vow to see all the yeses I can say. To myself. To my children. To my husband.
Yes to tents in the living room.
Yes to donuts at night.
Yes to resting when I have work to do.
Yes to reading instead of school.
God has said “yes” to me. He says yes, I love you. Yes, I am faithful. Yes, I am making you new.
Yes is a word we all want to hear….and we all want to say, but our life sometimes feels like we can’t. We can’t say yes because we have so much to do. We have bills. And dishes. And crumbs. And little pieces of so many small things.
But our yeses are about big things. Hearts. Lives. Living and loving. The big things are what we need to see. The things that will last forever. Yes to God’s Word. Yes to the lives all around us.
Invest in saying yes.
It takes time to say yes. It takes our energy to say yes. It takes our hearts to say yes sometimes.
We can say yes, I’ll give up my quiet time to be loud with you.
We can say yes, I’ll ignore all of the chores and read another book or rock in the chair or play another game of memory.
Here’s to a day of “yes!” A day of Candy Land, library books, tents in the living room, and maybe some dancing in the rain.
