I’ve eaten a lot of bacon for the past thirty days.
Thirty days ago today I started the Whole30 challenge. Basically a food challenge to only eat whole foods (fruit, vegetables, and meat) un-processed for thirty days. At first it was tough. I missed my coffee. You can have coffee, but no sweetener or creamer. So, because I have a little bit of coffee with my creamer, I ditched the coffee.
I’ve missed my popcorn and ice-cream. But at the end of the month, I’ve found I’ve not missed much of anything else. I really thought I would miss the diet coke. Nope. My husband and I both agree that pop will be cut out, even after the thirty days.
I’ve gained a few things while on this challenge. I’ve gained new taste buds. I don’t crave the sugar or caffeine like I did before. I’ve gained a perspective on what is healthy and good for my body. I’ve seen that I can truly function without coffee! I’ve also gained a jump start on what I hope will be some good healthy habits.
I love feeling healthy. I want to continue eating healthier, even after today. But I have to say:
I’m so glad I was able to eat bacon!
