31 Days {Capture}

{Capture}

Stop, let me get a picture! Stop moving. Say cheese! Listen, hold still! Smile! I love you! Ok…..

As I try to capture all of the moments I know its like trying to capture water flowing from the stream of life. It slips right through.

Snap!

Another moment captured…..too many to count.

But as I try to freeze time with the camera on my phone, I miss out on what is behind in the picture. Life. I am so busy trying to keep them little that I miss living with them. Playing with them and being in the moment.

I need to stop trying to capture the moment and live in the moment. Let their smiles fill my heart for the moment and accept that time moves on. Concede that they will not be little forever and instead of trying to capture their faces, silly costumes, and small frames…..I hold their tiny bodies close. I kiss those squishy cheeks. I give them a smile intend of pointing my phone at them.

I can capture their picture anytime. I can really enjoy their love and voices and stories right now. Enjoy it. Not try to record it. I don’t have to remember it all. I don’t have to have a record of all of the funny sayings….I can laugh and live and hold this in my heart:

No matter the age, they are precious. No matter the season, they are lovable. No matter how time flies….enjoying the moment seems to slow time better than capturing their picture.

  1. As you get older so many memories come back to you. I do have pictures, albums and albums and albums plus many stored on the computer of my grandchildren. But sometimes I can see a little curly blond head sitting inside her toy box looking at books or another one sitting in her high chair with her big smile. Those are the things that will be stored while you are spending time holding and hugging them.
