31 Days {Home}

{Home}

Breathe in. Home is is place to be yourself. A place you don’t have to dress up or hide behind a mask. Home is a place to relax. To feel safe and wanted. And loved.

I slip my shoes off. I take a deep breath as I reach down to hug the littlest one as she wraps her arms around my legs. My boys clamor to tell me their adventures. I reach for my husband’s hand and squeeze a thank you. We walk up to the bedroom. I stretch out on the bed struggling to pull off the tight jeans. When I’m changed I smile with my heart and I breathe in again……and this time I exhale.

Home. A place I can wear yoga pants and not feel self conscious that I’ve never been to yoga. A place I can eat peanut butter right out of the jar. A place to fix my favorite cup of coffee.  A place for comfy socks. The softest socks I will ever place on my tired feet. A place where I’m loved. A place where I’m needed. A place where I’m wanted.

Home. The noise and chaos of my home reminds me that I have little ones. Their time with us is precious and rare. I soak in the moments. I soak in the days. I soak in the weeks I get to stay at home with them. I believe in alone time for mommas, but I also believe that my heart and soul breathe so much easier when I’m home.

Its the people in the home that make it feel safe. Loved. Wanted. The people are my home. The sweet faces and strong arms. The hugs and laughter. It all fills our house and makes it a home.

Home.
