We named her JOY. Our second daughter, our fourth child….before we met her, we named her. JOY. Liana Joy.
When we first brought her home, she wasn’t very joyful. In fact, she was quite sad. Grieving. Mourning the loss of her world. Scared because she didn’t know us….or trust us.
As the months pass, and we celebrate seven months being home, JOY is coming home. Our sweet little girl is opening up. Trusting us. Letting us love her. Bringing us all…..so much JOY.
She has taught us so much about JOY.
How JOY is not an emotion, but a decision we make. I have found JOY in any circumstances because of the Source of JOY. My Savior. My God brings JOY when I begin to open up and trust Him.
Just as our daughter is growing into her name….JOY because her heart is opening to our love…..I too can grow into JOY when I learn to trust and let God love me.
I’ve found Joy in the hardest seasons in my life when I find my strength and joy in the LORD. I give thanks for my daughter, who has taught me to seek out JOY in the dark seasons. For when we seek JOY, we will find her when we look into our Savior.
We named her JOY, but is our GOD who has named me and given me joy!
