31 Days {Temporary}

{Temporary}

All of life is temporary. My children’s ages. The struggles we face right now. Temporary. Full of time…..

We wish for time to go by slowly when things are good. We wish for time to go by fast when things are hard. Right now I’m doing a Whole30 challenge. Only whole foods for 30 days. At first, I was excited and doing great. Today we are day 20 and I’m getting tired of it. It was easy at first. Now it is a little harder. I miss some of my favorite foods.

I want to keep telling myself it is only temporary. I’ve started counting down the days. Only 10 days left……But I don’t want to count down my life like that.

Only a few more years and my kids will be more independent. Only a few more years and….they will be gone. The problems are getting harder as they grow older. It is true the baby stage is the easiest. As time passes, I see how it is true.

Don’t get me wrong. For all of you new moms, the baby stage is HARD when you are in it. But as they grow you will find the babies have the least amount of problems. All seasons are temporary. It is how I survive today. With four littles under seven, I survive knowing it will not always be this way.

But I don’t want to just survive and count down the days, weeks, and months or even years. I want to live right now. Life is lived in the temporary. And that’s ok. Living in today is the key to rest. Living in today is how we find hope in the hard times. Living in today is how we rest on God and His love for us. Today.

Grace is not temporary. Grace is found today. And tomorrow. And the next. We can rest that He forgives. He loves. He is giving us all of the grace, even if we live in the temporary.
