Trust. Where do I trust? Where is my heart safe and secure?
I would like to say it is in God and His Word. Sometimes it seems as if that book lays open but not read. The promises of God get drowned out by the trials and troubles plaguing my everyday. The demands of life seem to crowd out His gentle whispered voice.
Cooking. Cleaning. Washing. Parenting. Schooling. Blogging. Writing. Repeat. Everyday. Where is trust when all I am doing is working?
Trusting is resting. Trusting means I am safe and secure – not matter how busy my hands may be. Trusting means I can rest in the midst of life’s demands. I can rest in His love for me. His power and sovereignty over all circumstances. I can trust Him.
It begins with my heart direction, which leads to hand action. I can bend my heart, starting each day, into His will and trust His plan for that day. As the day unfolds, I can listen for His voice. Take moments to be with Him in prayer and Bible reading. My hands will get to working out this trust. My mouth will be slow to lash out. My heart will be quick to think the best. His new heart for me begins with Trust.
As I strive to be more like Christ in my everyday, it begins with trust. Trust in all of His promises and Who He is.
He is good.
He is faithful.
He is love.
He is just.
He is steadfast, forever.
His Word is true. He will never leave me, nor forsake me. He loves me.
In His love, I can trust.
