Five Minute Free Writes – Every week I join a special group of writers to write for FIVE MINUTES. No editing. No revising. Just WRITE. Each week the prompt is revealed Thursday evening. You can find more information here.
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Psalm 91:1
Dwell with Him. Live. Abide. Stay.
Life is all about rushing. And hurrying. Schedules. Deadlines. Instead, my life is craving rest. Rest with my Father. The Most High. The One who hung the stars, says to me: Stay. The One who commands angel armies, says to me: Abide. It is this life of the pull and take: the abiding and working, that calls my heart to pull into His Word. Pull and pour into the Truth of how it all works together.
When I dwell, I find Safety. He protects. Maybe not from physical evil, but from the evil that would penetrate my heart. Maybe not from suffering, but from letting the suffering hurt the deepest part of me.
When I dwell, I find Assurance. A rock. A place of Truth. With so many opinions, facts, distort views, I want Truth. My heart craves to know what is right. What is the heart of God? Dwell there.
When I dwell, I find Trust. I find the faith to believe He is going to do what He says. His promises are true. I can believe in Him. Not a “I hope…” But a “I have this sure assurance….”
Dwell with Him. Abide.
