Five Minute Free Writes – Every week I join a special group of writers to write for FIVE MINUTES. No editing. No revising. Just WRITE. Each week the prompt is revealed Thursday evening. You can find more information here.
This week our prompt is: Morning
I will praise You. Even in the darkest night. I will praise You. For even in the deepest valley, when you are silent, You are there. And morning is coming. No matter the season, morning always comes.
It may be a gray morning, but it is morning. It will not always be night. I think the of all of Your creation, I love mornings best. I love the sun and the light it brings. For in the Sun I see the Son. I see the Light of the World. Coming to light up the dark.
I will praise You, even when the morning comes and I cannot see the path. I will praise You. I will praise You, even when the morning comes and no answers are suddenly there.
Mornings do not mean all it well, only that You are here. Mornings do not mean all of the anxiety is gone, only I am not alone. Mornings mean Your presence. Your faithfulness. Your everlasting love. Your great kindness. And mornings remind me, even if – You are God and You are Good.
Mornings mean I can have a do-over. A chance for something new. Everyday. So, I will praise You for the night season, for the morning seems brighter and lighter because of the dark. So, I will praise You for the hard, for in it I see the morning and feel the freshness of the air so much clearer.
Lord, I will praise you. In the deep. In the valley. Because, morning is sure to come. It is sure. As sure as the sun, morning comes and so will You.
I praise you for You are my morning. You are the fresh dew. The new sun. Chasing the shadows of the night. And You are always found in the Light. No matter how small the light, you are there.
