Set your clock for five minutes……and GO!
Let’s create something beautiful. I wish I would wake up everyday and think about creating something amazing and beautiful. In my ordinary, boring, and mundane moments I lose sight of the beauty. I lose my focus and tend to see the crumbs, and dirt, and laundry. I think of my to-do list as something to check off, not privileges I have to make something matter.
As a new mom, more than anything, I wanted my work to matter. I wanted to feel important, like my job as a mom, wife, sister, daughter, and friend mattered.
When I see my life as God’s creation, a life full of both light and darkness, I find He is not calling me out of the ordinary. He calling me into the ordinary. He is inviting me into a life full of every-day moments, but beautiful moments. Moments I can use to create something that matters.
In my study of His Word, I find the Christian walk isn’t made up of mountain top moments, but instead lots of walking and stooping down.
When I look at beautiful works of art, I see the finished project. I see the glorious masterpiece on display for all to see. But I don’t see Monet bending over the canvas with a tiny paint brush dipped in green paint. The tiny little strokes take time. It takes effort, and lots of patience, to create a huge painting.
Because the things worth creating are made of tiny little steps. Tiny little moments lead to a beautiful life. Each day I pour the coffee, stir in my creamer, and live in the moment is another stroke of paint on the canvas of my life.
