Time for Five Minute Friday!!! Five minutes. No edits. No revisions. Set the timer….Go!
Sometimes the word makes us cringe, sometimes it brings warmth and joy. The word MOM means so many things, even to just me. For me, a mom is someone who is there. A person in my life who leads, guides, and tells me the truth no matter what. The year I turned thirty-three I realized I was the same age as my mother when her mother died. I put msyefl in her shoes. Realized how deep the wound probably hurt, even today. I wondered what I would be like if I had lost my mother a little over a year ago.
But I have my mother. I still have her across town and I’m so thankful for that. I know not everyone has a mother – present, alive, or emotionally available. But the mother-daughter relationship is always complicated. As I’ve gotten older it seems to be less and less complicated. Maybe its just me. Maybe I’m a mom now so I understand a little more deeply her passion, love, and decisions. Either way – for me, today, MOM makes me think: relationship.
