Time for Five Minute Friday!!! Five minutes. No edits. No revisions. Set the timer….Go!
What we believe to be true shapes us.What we believe is not something we have to voice or even write out. What I believe about God is revealed in how I trust. It is shown in my reaction to others. I wrote about patience last week, and it seems God is testing me: Do I believe He can change me?
I also believe God is holy, majestic, and in complete control over every single molecular in the universe? Then why do I fret about babysitting while we head to China? Why do I worry about attachment, love, and change?
I think what I believe needs to bring me back. Back to a place of peace and rest. The truest things I know are those I cannot see. And its ok. Most days its ok. The spiritual life is both nonmaterial and material. The life hid in Christ is both felt in my heart and brings calmness to my beating heart.
The truth I find to believe (in my deepest core) reflect how I live my ordinary days. If I believe God is good, I will not continue to dwell on the wrong. When I trust God’s sovereignty, I can stop making lists and staying up in the middle of the night worrying about the to-dos.
Truth. It is complex, but simple. It is far reaching and right here. Truth. It brings me back to reality when my heart beings to worry in the what ifs.
Truth stops the worry. Truth brings me rest. Truth urges me on to continue the good work. I can rest and work because of Truth. I can hustle towards my goals, but relax and not fret when things don’t go as planned. Truth. It is HIM. The way, the truth, and the life, which lives in me and sits on the throne.
