Every Friday I join a group of writers and we only write for five minutes. No edits. No revisions. Set the timer. Write. Stop. Publish. Join the fun and read more about Five Minute Friday here.
Today’s prompt is:INSPIRE
Create, move forward and make something. Make something of yourself. Make your life count and be an inspiration. Many days I wake and don’t feel like inspiration, or creativity, but in this space online my desire for you is to help INSPIRE you…..inspire you to focus and encourage you to read God’s Word. Study it deep and jump in.
Some days, I’m not really inspired in my Bible reading. The Spirit whispers to my heart, but the loud voices of the world crowd in. Hearing the inspiration and finding the creativity is gone. I’ll admit – since coming home from China I’ve been traveling in a fog. I open the the Word, but inspiration is gone. I pray, but it feels empty.
So inspiration isn’t about feelings. God isn’t speaking through my emotions. He is speaking through the truth of the WORD. Truth isn’t about how I feel – Truth is about what I believe with my mind. So today, let me inspire you to focus your mind. Inspire somehow makes us think of our heart, but we can inspire our minds too.
In this space, let me say this: reading God’s Word is not always full of inspiration. The feelings and movements of my spirit are not indicators of truth or lies. The words I read are true whether they feel true or not.
Life isn’t always inspiring. Sometimes it is boring. So on those days, whisper your faults to the Lord. Say the prayers you know are true. Read the Words, even when you can’t hear what they are saying. Ask. Beg. Seek. Keep knocking – inspiration doesn’t come from the outside – it is going to come from the Holy Spirit inside.
I pray I can help inspire focus – when you feel scatterbrained. I pray I can inspire the power of God’s Word in your daily life.
